Founder & Director

Martin Bitkow is the Founder and Director of Formulytix, a pharmaceutical analytics and formulary strategy company helping Australian health insurers improve how they manage access to non-PBS medications.

With over 15 years of experience across the insurance sector and government health programs, Martin brings a practical, system-level understanding of how medication access decisions are made. His background includes experience within the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), giving him valuable insight into how subsidised medicines are assessed and funded in Australia.

At Formulytix, Martin leads the strategic direction of the company, working closely with insurers, pharmaceutical companies, and pharmacies to build a smarter, more transparent model for non-PBS medication funding — one that improves access, reduces waste, and delivers better outcomes for health fund members. For insurers, this means greater visibility and control over non-PBS spend, with the opportunity to introduce rebate-aligned formularies that deliver measurable value through pharmacy extras cover. For pharmaceutical and pharmacy partners, it offers a faster, insurer-aligned route to market — supporting product uptake, driving volume, and expanding access without the delays and limitations of PBS listing pathways.

Advisor - Communications & Stakeholder Engagement

Emily Bitkow advises on communications and stakeholder engagement at Formulytix, helping ensure our work with private health insurers, pharmaceutical companies, and pharmacy partners is clearly understood and well received. Her focus is on refining how we communicate our formulary design, rebate strategies, and pricing insights — both in writing and in the room.

With a background in marketing and business development, Emily has worked across a range of health and services sectors, supporting both early-stage ventures and growing businesses. She brings a practical, no-nonsense approach to strategy, messaging, and market positioning.

At Formulytix, Emily also leads external presentations and pitch delivery — helping translate our technical models into plain-language outcomes for stakeholders. She focuses on making it easy for insurers to understand and adopt our preferred drug lists and rebate models — while also supporting clear, commercially aligned communication with pharmaceutical and pharmacy partners.

OUR VISION

Formulytix is not a traditional pharmaceutical benefit manager. We don’t want to control your supply chain or replace your existing vendors.

We want to sit alongside your policy team, providing the structure and data you need to make better decisions — and build a long-overdue framework for how non-PBS medications are handled in private care.

Australia needs a better way to manage non-PBS medications — one that works for insurers and benefits their members.

That’s what we deliver. That’s Formulytix.

OUR MODEL

We generate revenue by:

Sharing in rebates we help unlock

Charging for formulary development and savings analysis

Providing ongoing advisory support for tiering, reporting, and pricing logic

We only succeed when your members save more — and your fund gains strategic value.
